What to know before ziplining in El Yunque

Why Zipline?

We’ve heard it again and again from our customers – ziplining in Puerto Rico was one of the most exhilarating experiences of their lifetimes.  Whiz through the lush rainforest canopy and experience the sensation of flying.

Where is El Yunque Rainforest?

El Yunque Forest is a national rainforest on the northeast side of the island. The only tropical rain forest in the United States national forest system, El Yunque is filled with lush tropical plants and wildlife such as the elfin woods warbler and coquí, tree frogs native to Puerto Rico.

Of the many ways to explore El Yunque, ziplining through the forest canopy is sure to be the most thrilling experience! Whether you are an experienced zipliner or someone a little nervous about riding your first zipline, you’ll have an awesome time seeing the rainforest from above.

Here are some of our personal tips for your Zipline Adventure!

Make the most of your knowledgeable guides! Ask them questions about the Rainforest or Puerto Rico in general

  • You’ll be protected by canopy in some areas, but remember to wear sunscreen
  • Make sure to bring your camera or a GoPro
  • Wear the right clothes!  Normal, comfortable street clothes work great. We recommend longer shorts or pants because you will be wearing leg straps. And always close toed shoes!

Our personal favorite by our friends at Rainforest Zip Line Corp is a trip and ends with a gorgeous hike. Zipline only options are also available!

Driving  to El Yunque from San Juan

El Yunque is a scenic 45-minute drive away from San Juan. The roads are good and reliable, so no need to worry about whether or not your rental will make it.
